goodbye

I cut all my hair off this morning. at least 12 inches. I panicked at first, cried a little, and then spent some time experimenting with it. Now I'm feeling better.

and a little bit naked, too.

mmmm... harmony

Sloooow day. These are so few and far between that when they come, I don't know what to do with myself... so I'm blogging. and playing solitaire. and counting the minutes 'til the weekend.

There is an Aromascent candle by Glade at my desk. They're supposed to work as air fresheners even when not lit. The sent is called Perfect Harmony, which I've decided smells like night time and spices and grandma's cooking, a cross between baked pears and sugar cookies.

i love us

Anna: Maybe they can learn to pee their own pants like in the Marines. [pause] ...as opposed to someone else's pants.

Me: Will you pee my pants for me?

literature in the opium den

I needed a breather from The Wheel of Time series after book 5, so I started reading Picoult again. I've devoured 3 books in the last 4 days. I think my idea of a break is different from other people. :)

epiphany by carrie bradshaw

Sometimes, I acted dumb around him. I'd say, "Oh, what's that?" when I knew perfectly well what he was talking about. It made me feel like I didn't know who I was, or who I was supposed to be. I giggled nervously at things that weren't funny. I would become too aware of my mouth, or how I was moving my hands. I began living with a black hole of insecurity that had moved into my consciousness like an unwanted relative who refused to leave yet constantly criticized the accommodations.

EXACTLY!

26 and lovin' it baby!

I thought I was going to get to work today to find a humongous queue that had built up over the long weekend, but it was actually the opposite. I've gotten 6 jobs in so far and it's almost 10AM.

My Memorial Day weekend was great. My mom took me shopping Saturday morning and then out for lunch. That evening Anna, Amy, Christy, and I went out to Boogie Fever. The music is great there, but the people watching alone is worth the trip.

Sunday morning was baby Landon's christening, so I went out to Grand Blanc for that. Spent some time with the family at Justin and Amanda's. Amanda make homemade pizzas for everyone. I was about to leave and caught my Aunt Denise and Uncle Jerry pulling up to surprise everyone. They drove up all the way from Colorado, so everyone was really excited to see them. I met Anthony in Goodrich and we went back to the house and took advantage of my neighbor's pool. Then he cooked us some dinner and we watched an SNL special.

Monday I spent most of the day over at my Aunt's lake house in Waterford. Spent some time with my cousins and ate lots of food... the norm.

Now back to the grind.

Normal is just a setting on a washing machine...

Anna and I went to Royal Oak after work yesterday to see Hal Sparks do stand-up. That man is not only gorgeous, multi-talented, and genuinely just a nice person, but he's FUCKING HILARIOUS as well! I literally almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard. I met him afterwards and got an autograph. The whole time I was thinking "MIKEY!" Thankfully, I was able to restrain from my signature word vomit.

I think it's Queer as Folk time yet again. :)
